Default Interstate Battery Question

Has anyone used an Interstate Cycle-Tron Plus High Performance battery in their bike? I'm looking to put a new battery in my 2014 FLHTK and I can get one at a price equal to the HD battery and this one claims 500 CCA. The downside is the Interstate only has a 6 month warranty compared to HDs 1 year. I understand their are other options out there but for me it makes sense to choose one of these two.
I run Interstate in my pickups and an satisfied but have no idea how they are in motorcycles.

Forget the interstate, here's 2 quality batteries @ great prices.

Deka's etx30l/400cca (same mfg as OEM HD battery) for $99 to you door :

http://www.techbatterysolutions.com/...etx30l&Submit=

Yuasa's gyz32hl 500cca on sale now for $132 to you door :

http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...earch.y=7&mfg=

BTW,take a close look at pic's of yuasa's gyz32hl 500cca battery vs Interstates 500cca battery and you will see the case and terminal look exactly the same, maybe yuasa mfg'd it for interstate but dont know for 100% if thats the case or not.

But i know for fact Deka/EasternPenn mfg's batteries for HD because when i was @ my local HD dealer the other day Deka/EasternPenn made a delivery right in front of me while i was there getting new tires/Mich C2's i bought online (saved me $200+ vs buying @ dealer) installed on my bike @ my local HD dealer because my local indy refuses to install tires customers bought prior.

The HD dealer got smart some yrs back because alwoing customers to bring in their own tires generates work ($95-120) per tire to keep guys busy .

And thats not to mention if they find other issues when doing tire changes they may get additional work & or just plain good faith from installing tires bought elsewhere with good srvc so that customer may come in for srvc if other mech issues arise @ a later date.

I have the 400 in my 88 two years now and it tested 600 not long ago. Picked up a 500 for friends 103 last year and it's still going after setting all winter. The 500 has a better mount and I don't think there as high as the 400 rubbed my seat till put some shims under seat.

Battery opinion varies...plenty.

Myself, I've had one Interstate Cycle-Tron battery. It came with my lawn mower and gave up the ghost early in it's second season.

I have a 'Big Crank' battery from batterymart in my RZR that is the same unit spec'd for a Harley Touring model...it's been fantastic.

Yup,great battery for sure.

Thats because Battery marts BigCrank is mfg'd by Deka/EasternPenn mfg in PA. who BTW mfg's HD's oem maint free fact act AGM batteries too.

Last 2 interstate batteries i dealt with crapped out early,1 was an interstate motorcycle battery i installed in a bud's bike that died approx 6months later and an interstate i installed in my mothers car that died at approx 11months just under 1 yr.

Checked charging systems on the bike and car before i installed the new interstates and also after too and they were operating just fine, both batteries had a cell that crapped out.

Both of the defective batteries had " mfg'd in Mexico " on the case, looks like low quality got them.

Interstate used to mfg great batteries that looks to have changed from my exp with those 2 interstate batteries failing in less then 1yr that were mfg'd in Mexico.

OPPS,forgot to also mnetion both the Deka & Yuasa batteries i ref to above in earlier posts in this thread are both MFG in USA/PA too.

Yrs ago Yuasa motorcycle batteries used to only be mfg'd in Japan which isnt the case for all Yuasa batteries anymore, same go's for mfg's like Toyota/Nissan/Honda/etc.

The Yuasa GYZ32HL battery i bought for my 09 HD states it's mfg'd in PA.

I replaced my OEM battery with a Big Crank from Battery Mart delivered to my house. It's been great.

As noted, techbatterysolutions and battery mart has the 30 series Deka battery shipped to your door, priced low. I've bought from both. Interstate batteries are not what they used to be and dealer network is more thin then years ago.
