Well after 4 goes at this...

The leak was too excessive to be identified by smoke, which was a good idea and I tried that.

i know I was fitting correctly although got it wrong the first time.

Took in to dealer and they have confirmed head gasket blown. I was really surprised that there was no sign of oil anywhere but we live and learn

That sucks, but at least you became an expert in installing header pipes and gaskets!

Be really careful not to break the bolts holding the header on. I made that mistake. Grab a beer and be patient. Slow and steady wins the race.

Wow.... I would think the bigger the leak, the easier it would be to spot with smoke...

Anyways, glad you're on the way to getting fixed!

no, I knew the area where the leak was but it was that strong even while idling that is just dispersed the smoke completely
