Default Just Couldn't Do It-Again!

Been so close on two different occasions last year to trading my 2013 Ltd for a new 2016 RGU-then just this past week I was just about there again with a 2017 Indian Roadmaster which I was to the point of taking out for a spin. I really liked it from a static perspective-and still do. The dealer was getting ready to close so I went home without a test ride and thought about it some more-just like I did with those Rushmore RGU's I was going to trade up to last year.
After a nice ride on my 2013 Ltd today I am over it! Going to keep it for at least 5 more years. The fact that most of my mods won't fit a Rushmore and certainly won't fit a Roadmaster, and that I have the last year of the air cooled Ltd's, and it's paid for, solidified my decision. Is there anything to be said in having the last year of the air cooled Ltd's- or am I grossly overthinking it?

In my opinion you're overthinking it. I base that on I had a last year Dyna Wide Glide Evo. I kept the bike for 12 years it was worth no more than any other Wide Glide Evo.

Good to see you came off the edge with that Indian. Lol.

Keep the LTD. It's a great bike. It's not a RGU though. Lol. I loved my batwing when I had it.

A new bike is just a different bike. Mine is four years old now and I still enjoy it.

Id love a touring bike, but I would keep my Heritage if I ever buy one.

As far as Indian goes, beautiful bike. But when I go to rally's or just riding down the highway I see thousands of Harleys and hardly never an Indian.

Now the Indian could very well be a great bike, but if you like to mod or like add on's, let's face it Harley wins hands down.

Not to mention Indian dealerships are far and few between. And where I currently live, Im over an hour away from an HD dealership, but we have a handful of independent shops that speacialize in Harley. So it seems your never too far from a repair shop if you need one.

Yup, did the same thing last year when the Indian Springfield hit the market. Beautiful bike, but when I took it for a test ride, I couldn't get back to the dealership fast enough. The Thunder Stroke 111 was the worst sounding engine I'd ever experienced. Perhaps it was just this particular bike, but it sounded like someone tapping the engine case with a ball-peen hammer. I jumped on my '14' Ultra and never went back. Now I'm fighting off the urge to look at the 2017 Road King Special! Blacked out Olive Gold, apes...

Do something to make your bike "Different" it may get you through another couple years anyway. The Indian dealer didn't want to sell a bike if he was getting ready to close and you couldn't ride... I've stayed in a car dealer for 5 hours after they closed making a deal. And COULD have walked out wasting their time. But they could tell I was serious, but wanted MY deal, not theirs. My Daughter got her car.

Five years?
You promise?

Yes you are overthinking it but no harm in that.
Better than overspending it like I always do.

IMHO...there's nothing special about having the last air cooled. Do, yes you are overthinking it.

There is something special about having your bike, with all your upgrades, and paid for.

But warning: Don't test ride an M8.
