the whole deal people want to get caught up in the last year thing is for example.
let's play the what if game what if you had a last year knucklehead or a last year Panhead?
that is where people get the romance of having a last year bike. Old-timer one time told me I should keep that Dyna because it was a last year Evo.
you know how often do we read on here investment? This Modern Harley is not an investment.
You are exactly right its not an investment its a fun toy. I just shake my head when guys use the investment term. I ride and enjoy my twin cam and dont worry about resale value. I am not a fan of the m8 so the twin cam will be my last new bike.
Been so close on two different occasions last year to trading my 2013 Ltd for a new 2016 RGU-then just this past week I was just about there again with a 2017 Indian Roadmaster which I was to the point of taking out for a spin. I really liked it from a static perspective-and still do. The dealer was getting ready to close so I went home without a test ride and thought about it some more-just like I did with those Rushmore RGU's I was going to trade up to last year.
After a nice ride on my 2013 Ltd today I am over it! Going to keep it for at least 5 more years. The fact that most of my mods won't fit a Rushmore and certainly won't fit a Roadmaster, and that I have the last year of the air cooled Ltd's, and it's paid for, solidified my decision. Is there anything to be said in having the last year of the air cooled Ltd's- or am I grossly overthinking it?
yeah, i just had my 2013 FLHTK in for its 55000 mile service. i saw some pretty nice bikes on the floor while waiting. I, like you have mine set up just the way i like it with gadgets and gizmos to include satellite radio in my garmin, and its paid for too. so, other than the 107, improved suspension, linked brakes, wet heads and better all around performance, what would i gain besides a new payment.....lol
The lack of buffeting on the new RG is worth the price alone.
its funny, i don't get buffeted on my 2013 FLHTK. maybe its the fork deflectors i have on it along with the deflector between the forks up underneath the fairing. i just don't have a problem with it. guess i'm lucky. am going to put my toe in the water and take a ride on one, one of these days. i'll leave my wallet at home.....
Been so close on two different occasions last year to trading my 2013 Ltd
....... how many miles you got on the LTD ... 40..50..60,000 ?
..... no need to trade till you've used it a little bit.
........... though them RGUs are really nice !!
