we bought 2 from harbor freight for the Daytona trip this year, they were 39.00 each. drilled 4 holes in the wood floor for each used large 2 inch washers on the underside of the trailer. tightened it down with lock washers of course, hardware came with chock except for the large washers. it was an enclosed trailer. we loaded 2 electra glides and it worked perfect. you have to use the furthest hole back so the fender clears. but the bike will sit up right and u can get off an tie it down. I am very particular with my bike and was very pleased with these. good luck.

Ok, that makes things a little simpler. Big fender washers or a metal plate underneath the wood floor is a must to distribute the stress. Condor is my choice, one of the best out there and you get a great product for a little bit more money that will last you a very long time.

I've got the Pingels in a Carson 6X12. I like them because although they may be a little pain to put in when there's dirt in the socket, they come out easily for when you need to haul something else. I staggered them for two bikes and one thing I've learned is if you don't lock the rear wheels down good they will hop around. Especially if you jump a curb in an unlit parking lot! I just dropped a couple of folding 3" D-Rings into the floor on each side and cut down a couple of ratchet straps I run through the rims.

Since we're still chatting........I'm not towing cross country or once a month. Just occasional and here is what I'm looking at right now.........opinions?

Interstate Patriot (basically a ride on) 6x10 V nose includes spare (mounted), Dexter Axles, Drop Axle, 4 D rings, 2 dome lights, the additional extension flap at the end of the ramp, rounded roof which makes the inside 6'6" , has RV lock and bar lock on door, has diamond plate stone guard across the front/bottom as well as plain steel that runs up the "V" along with the diamond type fenders for $3,000

Pace Journey 6x12 V nose includes spare (mounted), Lippert Axles, 1 dome light, no D rings, no extension flap at end of ramp, flat roof which makes inside 6', with RV lock on door with no bar lock, diamond plate stone guard across the front/bottom with no trim going up the V, and plain steel fenders for $2,600. Yes, I can buy D rings for cheap as well as any kind of LED light to just hang in there.......just wondering you guys' opinions

All other things are very similar. Aluminum, including one piece aluminum roof, 3/4 floor with 3/8 walls, etc etc.

Most posts I have read recommended go as big as you can. Personally I would add the d rings where you want them. I buy mine from Amazon ant the have the backing plate to mount on the bottom of the trailer.

Have you considered a dual axle? I have a dual axle, drop door, jacks for loading when not connected, vents on the sides, alum wheels and probably some other stuff I don't recall.

If I were still in the Army, I'd go dual with brakes cuz it would be used a lot on my moves. I just won't be using this thing enough to quantify the price (IMO). All of us ride ...NC to Canada, Key West, etc. I bet this trailer will be used more for required maintenance than actual towing. But dual is not off the table

You want the bar locks on the doors. Those RV locks are too easy to open. Tandem axles are more stable and carry more weight, plus there's the safety factor of only being on one wheel when the other blows in a single axle. Also standing up is great. Banging you head not so great. I also don't advertise. I love Harley's but when I see some guy trailering with 4ft logo on the back ya kinda know what's in there. We we're stopped at the Hoover Dam and inspected and when he asked what we had in the trailer in front of a group of patch holder's I told him "furniture"! When he looked inside he said he understood. Brake's are great too but I never needed them with my single axle. It pulls and turns great. Tandem axles don't spin in a parking lot real well. The back wheels have to kinda skid sideways. So, Pro's and Con's...

I had a 6X10 trailer that I was going to use after retirement - set it all up - used it three times - I used the Bikerbar - I think it was called something else back then... It was GREAT and so easy to load my bike - one person job and VERY secure

also there are recessed or flush mount chocks, I have used these in my last 2 trlrs and the work perfectly although they are not as secure as condor and the like (that's what your tie-downs are for though)
