I took off the heel shifter, too, but didn't want to move the toe shifter, seems to work OK in its normal position.

Seems to me I've read some threads with different approaches to this over the years; you might find something useful here somewhere.

Also, you might find a shift lever cheap in the classifieds here, if you want to cut one down and use it.

EZ Brake offers a spacer that is spring loaded and keeps tension on the shifter shaft, I'm assuming to prevent wear of the shifter shaft bushing. I originally used the cap style to cover the end of shifter shaft, but I wanted the toe shift in the out board position.

+1 for Kuryakyn "Heel Shift Lever Eliminator"... http://www.kuryakyn.com/products/71/...ver-eliminator

Easy to de-install the heel shift lever, and put this spacer in it's place. Look good too!

Picked up a Pingel heel shift eliminator from JP Cycles for just over $40, well worth it!

I tried a couple of aftermarket solutions but what I like the best is taking the rubber cover off the heel shifter peg, cutting it down, and using that as a spacer.

That looks like a better idea. I like the toe shifter more outboard too. Feels like I was twisting my ankle inward to hit the shifter.

On mine, I removed the heel shifter, cut the shaft, and installed a double long peg that outfit dells...forget the name but it's a commonly known company....it gives me glee and lots of it.
