Frustrated are we. You couldn't turn this into an oil thread when you posted the same thing in post 44 so you thought you'd try again

Talked with builder on Friday. He said they were able to clean up the lifter bore without machining so will not charge me for that. So far we are at Timken mod, lifter bore repair, new SE crank, new pistons and rings, new SE billet cam plate and oil pump, new Andrews cams, new S&S premium lifters, gaskets, new SE compensator, new Baker extra capacity oil pan and a new AN Big Sucker Derby air cleaner. All told pretty close to S&S 124LC money. Take out the last 3 things as I would have needed those anyway and am a ways away from 124 money.

I suppose I didn't NEED the new air cleaner but I have hated the air cleaner that was on the bike since I got it. Has always been the plan to change it out and now is as good a time as any.

Sorry for you bad luck. This is why when buying a used bike with work done you have to discount the crap out of it and expect to get screwed.

Builder called yesterday to say engine was done. Went and picked it up today.

Started cleaning up the bike before I begin putting the engine back in. Had a friend ask me to make them a holster so I had to stop and dig out all the materials.

Got some work done today. Baker oil pan is in and the engine is sitting in the frame. Also removed the front bumper.
