I have a 95 Road King and am needing to know what the easiest way there is to remove the windshield and re-install it. I just bought it and I don't have the owners manual, and the do it yourself area has answers from someone that's been banned. I know I can get it off but am not sure if it is the right way and I know I'm going to want to put it back on and don't want to find out that I did something wrong when removing it causing a problem when it comes to re-installing it......so help a brother out....
Very easy. There are clips on either side of the w/s. Lift them up and over, away from where the clip in. Then standing astraddle of the front wheel, grab the w/s on either side in the upper middle and pull towards you. Then simply lift up!

Idon't think all windshieldsare easy-detachable. I mean if that's what he's trying to remove, a child could do it. He must mean a more permanent style windshield, which are still just a few bolts. The main thing for me with an easy detachable one is protecting my chrome from scratches. I just put a few soft cloths around the headlight and lamps.
btw, if it is an easy detachable, I meant no offence, it is so simple though. It is just like Hdbiker1450 said. Two little clips.

You may be right. I just assumed that the 95 was the same as my 02.
1995 Roadking had a quick detach windshield. Just lift up on the little spring wire things on each side of the windshield and gently pull the windshieldtoward the front of the bike. When the top mounting pointscome free, just lift the windshield off of the bottom two mounting points. To put it back on, just reverse.
As far as using information from the banned member you mentioned. Don't worry about it. Most of his technical information is good.
One thing that should be pointed out here is when you lift up on the springs to release the mount, put pressure on the top of the shield towards the front of the bike before trying to lift it off the bike and the lower mounts. It has to lean foward before the top mounts release so it can be lifted clear.
