Is doing a simple stage 1, exhaust, tuner and air cleaner really worth.
I have been going back and forth with this decision for two weeks.
What are the definite benefits
Thanks
Absolutely, Stage 1 really made a noticeable difference in performance and of course sound. The FM 2-1-2 headpipe also removed the red hot exhaust from the right side. Well tuned Stage 1 always runs cooler, lose the cat and richens the mixture!
Although a Stage-1 upgrade will improve your bike's performance, it will likely void the warranty if it's not done at a Harley dealership. Some dealerships have been known to void warranties just for upgrading the slip-on mufflers!
If it's not under warranty, go nuts. It is worth spending the money.
It's out of factory warranty but I do have an extended through Cornerstone and they said the only thing they would not warranty are the Stage 1 parts if they went bad i.e. the tuner
I have a CFR mufflers; V&H Power dual headers; Screaming Eagle air cleaner and a Power Vision Tuner. To be honest, I haven't noticed the big bang that everybody talks about...Maybe I was just expecting to much.
The first ride after stage one I was blown away at the performance increase. Didn't take long for me to realize it was false hype and just the much more aggressive sound that had me fooled. It does run cooler but that is due to not having a cat. To be honest I don't think it did a darn thing performance wise. I did VH pro pipe, fuel moto intake and PV5
