Think back on your last gas fill up...if it was out in BFE, it could have been that the station doesn't sell enough 91 octane to keep it fresh. Fairly common deal.
Check the spark plug wire to the front cylinder. They rub on the bottom of the fuel tank and can short out. The first few minutes of running the fuel mixture is richer and easier to ignite. Once the engine is warm and the fuel mix is leaner the easier path to ground may be to the bottom of the tank. Just a thought.
You don't say it has Fuel Injection or a carb but due to the age I'm going to say it probably has a carb? If so check your accelerator pump on side of carb. May have a hole in diaphram. You should be telling us the mileage. Any work done prior. Fuel injected or carb. That will help us help you.
