As of late, the rear end of my 05 Roadking feels a little skiddish going down the road and especially over tar strips etc. Any help?
Check the following 1) front motor mount. They are known to shear like a sliced bagel 2) tire inflation 3) spoke tightness if you have spokes 4) rear shocks may be shot 5) steering head bearing
Lift that puppy up in the air give the swingarm a good shake to see if you have any clunking going on. My 03 RK started doing what yours is doing recently and I found out I needed new swingarm bearings and mounts. I did the front motor mount as well since the swingarm mounts are 1/2 of the motor/tranny mount system. Much better now.........
wow, sure could use a little more info. how long have you had that rear tire? how is the tire pressure? what brand/size tire is it? what about the maintenance on your bike, are you up to date? steering head bearings, etc?
Thanks to all of you for your help. Spokes are tight and ting like bells. Motor mount was replaced last year. Tire pressure right on the money. Rear wheel alignment is within 1/16 of an inch. Seems to be no noticeable play at swingarm or steering neck bearings. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Wait....here it comes. Double checked TWIs on both tires with a good flashlight and low and behold, both Metzelers are showing wear bars. Rear is the worst. Will ride til late fall and replace both before spring. 11,000 on rear(4 yrs old) 16,500 on front(approx.5 or 6 y.old). Hope that's all it is. Thanks.

By "showing wear bars", do you mean that the treads are worn down TO the wear bars? That's the indication that the tires are all done, replace tires now! Not late fall!!
Get rid of the stock air suspension. It is a poor excuse for suspension when new and only gets worse. Replace with good Tuned coil overs and you will be amazed! Check your swing arm bushings also as well as your tire and bearings.
