Sick ride! What kind of windshield do you have on that bike?
If your referring to Chad1200, his looks similar to the disposable $19 ebay ching chang I have on my batwing bike,
side note: when this bike was a full dresser it had your 8" recurve on it for about 75k miles, I liked the material it was made of, I could buff any blemishes right out, unlike the poly

I had to go look in my ebay purchase history,,, 6" black wave, it was 24 bucks back in '21, up to 36 now, it surprised me how well it works, wasn't expecting much.
Here is my entry, it's not on the level of some of these amazing builds. Maybe not "high" performance, but I think it belongs somewhere in the mix.
2009 SG with FM 107 kit. Level B heads. 10:5 comp. Wood 996a cams. Fueling cam plate and oil pump. S+S Sidewinder 2into1 exhaust. 13" Legend Revo A's in back, Legend cartridge upfront. Glide Pro stabilizer. Vindikta 12" Hoopteeze bars. V factor floorboards. Lucky Daves Get Lucky seat.
Did all the work myself including the FM 107 (my first engine build). Made 115hp and 122ft. lbs on the FM dyno.
I'm a fan of this thread! As much as I like T-bars, I opted to not block the newly installed Sony ax7000 display. I like the gps via android auto when touring longer distance. I think the hoopteeze are a decent compromise.
Maybe Im just getting old but my FM riot 2-1 pipe with my 124" motor is borderline too loud for me, especially with a cross country trip coming up. I can wear ear plugs for myself, but early mornings and late nights I cringe for my neighbors. Not trying to be that guy.
I tried rewrapping the baffle, and adding a lolipop washer but no real difference.
I realize its a big motor, and Im not looking to lose power but are there any 2 into 1 pipes that are pretty tame? Maybe Bassani? They dont seem too loud from what Ive heard. I assume I'll have to go full length which is a pain with my 14.5" shocks but nothing a big hammer cant fix right? Any experience with a mellow 2-1?? Thanks.
I had a Bassani 2:1 Road Rage exhaust and didn't love it. While it was technically quieter than the HPi exhaust that replaced it, it had a really loud resonance starting around 3,000 RPMs.
I think this might have been due to the exhaust exiting under the bag causing a super annoying resonance that I could feel even with ear plugs.. The HPi pipe exited past the bag and didn't resonate like that.
Have you ever looked into a Jekill and Hyde exhaust, they have electronically adjustable baffles. They are not cheap, though.

Whatever you do, don't get the shorty Bassani like I have. It's loud and RIGHT in my ear... I know Bassani also has the mid-length one that terminates right before the axle nut, so more like 3/4 length? Plus they have it in that black chrome color which I dig. That being said I definitely am looking at going to something a little more mild too. Even at my not-so-old age the RK just doesn't need to be obnoxious - I've got a Dyna with a built high compression motor and a thunderheader for that....lol

Good to know on the bassani.
I have seen the J and H pipes....love the idea....not the look or the price lol...I wish someone else would come up with a similar idea. Theyve been doing it in cars and boats for decades, I dont know why it isnt more popular on bikes. Itd be awesome to be stock quiet for mornings, nights, long trips etc then open it up whenever you want with a button.
