Hi all
I want to change my bars over to 12” monkey bars so need to change the cables and brake line.
Could anyone tell me:
1. Is it easy enough to do if i use the yaffe cable kit
2. Do i need to use the “digital tech” to bleed the brakes
3. Does the yaffe wiring kit come with the pins already crimped onto the cables so that i only have to put them into the socket housings
Thanks in advance for any help - it is appreciated.
Being in the UK i dont have many (any) people to ask....
1) Yaffe 12" bars are actually closer to 14" high than 12"
2) I did not use the Yaffe kit but found the stock internal wire cables long enough
3) Some people have had success re-routing the brake & clutch cables to work - I went with +2' - yes needed a tech to do the ABS brake system if you change cables
Sat on a glide in Blueridge in september (on vacation) and it felt just right. The guy in the dealer said they were 12” bars but we didnt know what type.
Maybe i should get 10” yaffe ones, as they might be nearer the 12” i want.
On the 09-13 fairing bikes I'd go +6 on clutch and +4 for the upper front brake line that runs from Master Cylinder to the ABS module for Yaffe 12's. I got Yaffe 10's and did +4 clutch and was able to get by without replacing ABS line.

Hi Acchd,
Are they the yaffe 10” in yiur signature pic ?
I used kst bars. Half the price of yaffees and are nice bars. Used stock cables and everything. If your dead set on yaffee bars try getting a hold of them and ask them your questions. But i warn you i tried to contact them when i was searching for bars and they never answered.
I have 12" Yaffee's. I agree with ACCHD. If you have a 9-13 you need +6 clutch +4 brake line. I extended my own wiring. If your doing a 14 and up guys say the wires are long enough and they have used stock brake and clutch line with some rerouting. 12"s are perfect, I wouldn't go 10's because they block the mirrors completely.
