Hey guys I am getting ready to do my 1000 mile check up. I have chosen to do this myself since I like the idea of it being done right. I have the fix my hog dvd service. I havent watched it all yet. I want to run the mobil vtwin oil with the mobil 1 75/95 in the trans. My question is how will I know where to get what o rings and gaskets etc for the changes? Like part numbers etc. I read the forums daily and have searched and havent found anything. I was just curious to know what harley parts I will need to do the change all the fluids. I also plan on getting the harley service manual also. I just didnt want to look dumb walking into the dealer not knowing what to get. Thanks for your time guys and gals I appreciate it.

Harley oilfilter, 3 orings for drain plugs, primary gasket for derby cover, (note: this has changed from an oring to a gasket) gasket for air filter to backplate. Running Mobil 1 is a good choice. You may want to pick up the belt tensioning tool for the drive belt adjustment, don't be alarmed when the correct tension is achieved......it's fairly tight (1/4 - 5/16 @10lbs). Don't fret the part #'s the dealer can take care of that. The manual provides all the necessary info for your 1000 mile service. Good luck!

Just for your info, the gasket kit for a "07" bike is 17369-06...cost is $3.08. I just did my 1000k service on my RK Custom. It was no problem to do.

This is good to know and thanks for the part number. Is there a place online that I can order from? Is this the only gasket/ o-rings I will need for the 1000 mile?

Those are the only o-rings/gasket that you will need. It will take about 1/2 tube of grease for the steering head. I don't know about your on-line question. Good luck!
