Dealer usually installs during the PDI, at least they used to when I was working at HD.

Depends on the year: now the lead is hooked directly into the computer rather than the battery

Every bike I have purchased sense 2007 has had it installed. Now in years past I was told dealer installed them . The 2016 and 2017 had them from the factory.

The tender cord is wired into the main harness on my 14 flhxs. Goes in under the left side cover.

Mine sticks out the left side of the bike..... i plug the tender into when needed, and the heated vest when it is needed.... I have not looked at the other end to see where it goes.

My ‘12 the dealer installed it. On my ‘17 it was integrated in the harness from the factory. So, somewhere between ‘13 & ‘17 they integrated it.

Check your wiring diagram and/or parts diagrams.

Your bike came equipped with it from the factory, not directly connected to the battery but tied into the wiring harness.

As I recall, with pre-Rushmores, usually it was up to the dealer to installed one, which they usually connected directly to the battery.
