I've had a few sets of slip ons over the years and my wants and needs changed over the years as well. I have been looking for a set that are radio friendly but still have some bark when you roll on it but then calm down at highway speeds. I looked at RC's, CFR, DNT's, Screamin Eagle and finally Crushers. I have S&S Power tune duals, (you might too, they look like VH true duals but with a crossover hidden behind the heat shields) and I have 57H cams. The winner for me was the Crusher Mellows. The sound was perfect for me, they tune excellent, and the older ones were made by VH. Maybe not for you but worth a look.
Iron Pony was blowing them out at $199 pr.

Hey Jshopes, in my opinion, the loud is coming from the Dresser Duals, and not necessarily the pipes. I had Power Duals on my Limited, and switched to Dresser Duals. (Same slip-ons with both headers.) They were even too loud for me, and I felt bad for my buddy who rode behind me, and he told me they were loud. I put the Power Duals back on. They have a real nice bagger rumble to them, but nobody has any problem riding behind me with Power Duals. If you like the sound of the slip-ons except for the loud, I'd go with Power Duals first. In my experience with both headers, my slip-ons were WAY louder with Dresser Duals. Just my opinion.

I currently run Wild Pigs http://www.wildpigpipes.com/ but plan to swap them for Rineharts.

I'm glad someone agrees. I've been in countless arguments about it. If backpressure helped, you could gain power by sticking potatoes up your exhaust.

To the OP, for what it's worth I had V&H High Outputs at one point. Loved how they looked and sounded, hated how they performed. On any real performance oriented build, I always try to steer people away from all of the big 4"+ slip-ons.

DGuy also mentioned Crusher Mellows. These are a very good option as well.
