Default 2013 FLHTK Dead Battery?

When I got my bike out of storage in April they showed me the diagnostic that showed the battery was in great condition. Been riding it plenty since then and Amp gauge showed between 14-16amps. Stopped home today for a bit then came back out to start and had a rapid clicking like a buzz. Amp gauge showed 10 amps but when I try to start it that starts dropping fast.

I didn't think I left the switch in ignition while I was in the house for a bit but I supposed its possible.

Picked up the Harley Brand Supersmart Battery Tender 12v 750mAmp. Plugged it and let it go for about 5 hours the light showed green where when I first plugged it in it was amber (charging).

Now I try to start it and the exact same thing happens.

It did sound like when I first tried starting it (before tender) the fuel pump sounded like it primed.

Dead battery? Do I need to leave it on the tender longer?

I honestly dont think the battery could have gone dead because up until today the amp gauge showed 14-16 amps every time I rode it even earlier today.

Switched to a 2amp Black & Decker charger that we used to charge our daughters car battery but now it starts off blinking like its charging then goes solid green like its full. Going to leave it on overnight and see if it gets any better.

Is there another actual charger someone recommends?

Have you checked to ensure the battery is actually charging? By that I mean while bike is running and using a voltage meter at the battery, not the dash gauge. Could be a bad voltage regulator.

I would but I cannot get the bike to start again. Im just worried that neither of these chargers will get it high enough I can start it since they both give solid green lights fairly quick

Sounds like a bad battery. If it doesn't start after the overnight charge I would replace it. Since it is running between 13-15 volts while running this tells you the charging system is working. Sometimes batteries just quit like that 😑

That's what I was hoping to not hear........how easy is it to get to the maxi fuse? I have to pull that before replacing the battery right?

I changed mine about a week ago...I had the same impression, but honestly, I didn't know why you'd need to. Owner's manual didn't mention it, so I just disconnected the ground first, installed ground last, easy peasy...I think maybe if you have the security siren, that's the drill, though...just check your manual.

Other than corrosion how would I know if it is the starter?

If the battery connections are clean and tight, remove the battery and have it tested at a Batteries Plus or auto store to determine whether it's good or bad.
