13 .5 would be the number to look for

Hook your voltmeter up and hit the start button.
What is the number with the button, key, whatever it is in start the position? I don't mean ON position.
I will bet it drops below 9 volts.

What I was thinking to try as well. HAS to be the battery. I would buy a new battery and change it out before I travel 2 hours to the dealership any day. Do easy fixes first. It would really **** me off if I took it 2 hour rides, only to have them put in a new battery. So a battery + their time.

If it's a new motorcycle the battery should be covered by warranty. Take it to the dealer.
