I did my longest ride yet at 250 miles. About half way into it my but fell asleep and my back started killing me!! What seat did you go with as a replacement and how did you get it fitted??
I looked at the Harley loaner seats but wondering if there are options better and cheaper for my 2015 ultra limited low.
I want something that will raise me about an inch and sit back a little.
I'm running the Harley Hammock. I did a 900 mile day on it a couple weeks ago and it did pretty good. I could have done the last 100 to get my iron butt but I was tired.
Seats are so individual, you may go thru a few before you find one that works. I had a Mustang but didn't work for me as it is was more off a memory foam seat and I found it to be hard, but others love it. Got a Hammock and its better for me. Sometimes it takes more than a seat. Shock upgrade can be very helpful.
I have an Ultra Low, and yes that seat is trash. I bought a basically new STANDARD size seat for Ultra Classic/Limited from a local HOG member for $100. Night and day difference. It does raise you up an back from the low seat. For me, that is exactly where I needed to be on the bike. I then sold my low seat for the same $100.
The standard size seat is not worth more than a C-Note. Every Ultra for the past 5+ years has rolled out of the factory, hundreds of people have basically unused ones sitting in their garage. Ask around your dealership, the local HOGs, craigslist, ebay, and the classifieds here. The part number is 52000033.
