When one of my salesman comes to me with a ridiculous offer, i do one of 2 things. I either pencil back a 100.00 discount from msrp or i"ll tell the salesman to kindly let their customer know they are on the wrong car and lets look at a less expensive model.
Even at $3000.00 below MSRP they are still making a killing. Doubt you will get them to go that low. They have a rep to keep up you know! Doesn't hurt to try, good luck.

Really...how much of a killing?
That is the question my friend. I have never found any reliable information on the stealer invoice price for a new hog. Based on rumor and imagination the best I have been able to find is anywhere from 40% to 20% under MSRP is stealer invoice.I am surethey get a discount based on volume as well. Based on these figuresI figure if they sell $3000.00 under MSRP they are still doing really well. The fact is they do not want to sell that low. Why should they when they have got away withripping people off for years. They want to keep up the illusion that the bikes are hard to get and they are justified charging $3000.00 over MSRP. Its been said on here before, you don't need a Harley so shut up and pay the price. Which is exactly what I have done, twice now.
Get yourself a copy of the saturday wall street journal and read the article about Harley-Davidson. Company earnings of 1.8 billion and sales at 5.8 billion for last year. Article says Honda buyout not gonna happen and H-D hasen't even tapped the worldwide market yet. MOCO is strong as an alabama mule!(my words not WSJ). Britt
