there are some things to consider for the dealers too
once they sell a bike that cheap the word gets out
now they are setting a standard of 1,2,3,000.00 dollar discounts
they will most likely do better on a trade in and give you too much for that and then book it back on thier show room floor than offer deep discounts , or offer you chrome and service for less
i purchased mine in feb when the short strike was going on.
did pay list price , got the shipping and dealer prep knocked off
and got all labor for chrome installation free and 10% off all chrome
i think i could have done better but the want was worse that the need to save.

Try walking in with a list of dealers in your hand. Explain you don't have a lot of time and give you their best possible price right up front and, if they make the best offer as compared to the others on your list you will be back with your checkbook.
With all the models that are to be dropped in '08, and the normal time for new model introduction just a couple months off, I suspect that a lot of new stuff is coming up and they want to clear out as many 07's as they can.
Also, don't forget to ask about the interest rates. They are offering really low rtes until the end of July.
