i have an '07 ultra - just got it last april. rode a lot 30 yrs ago on a 750 honda with a windjammer fairing. don't remember ever having a wobble in the front end.with my hd - i amfeeling some wobble depending onspeed and wind. doesn't happen all the time, but is definitely there at times. haven't ridden this particular scoot enough to get a clear understanding of when where and why.was wondering if anyone else has felt the same. other than those times the bike feels really stable and steadfast.
Also, keep in mind that the batwing will transmit wind turbulence to the forks. It's not a real wobble as much as a nervous feeling in the front end caused by the buffeting. You'll notice this more following big trucks.
Could it be wind buffeting? I asked the same question recently. turned out a needed a taller windshield. Some people have added other deflectors to help. I suppose it could be mechanical. Ask the dealer to test drive it.
usually occurs like 50 -70. and, yeh, it almost is more of a 'nervous' feeling. i went out yesterday and tried to pay special attention for when exactly it happened. it only happened once for a little while. and it was, the best i could tell, had to do with the direction of the wind. and it was ever so slight. felt it worse at other times, but not yesterday. the bike itself didn't wobble. it almost reminds me of a flying one of those diamond shaped kites when it wobbles back and forth a little. or kinda like going over a screen bridge and you get that wobble, but not as bad as that. going out for a long ride on saturday and will have to see how it feels. want to check if the bars are really moving or just feels that way.
by the way - at 80 - 90, it is actually really smooth, no vibration buzz, no blur.
Mark, I had the same exact problem, usually a certain angle of cross wind would set it off. Scary as hell!
I think I have the issue solved. I installed the Touring XR stabilizer. I'm now scrapping floorboards. It made a big difference in the feel of the bike. Since the install I have not had the problem butIt's only been a few weeks so time will tell.
Low air pressure in rear shocks will cause nervous frontend.Pressure on the high side of recommended
pressure will give much better handeling. I ride solo on 07 ultra and I run 15 PSI in the rear shocks. Try it you'll like it. If you don't have the H-D pump you should get one. They are only about $40.00.
