It's a clean install and everything but you could probably just toss a regular bluetooth adapter in the saddlebag or the fairing pouches. If you have the WAY overpriced iPod connector you could always try something like this too... https://www.ebay.com/itm/CoolStream-Duo-Bluetooth-Adapter-for-Music-Docking-Stations-Motorcycles-Car/263086989158?epid=1225085893&hash=item3d4134df66:g :-~gAAOSwKoRZZ5ld:rk:4f:0[/url]
Woah! so that is plug and play? and I can still use handlebar controls?

The radio is definitely plug and play. Taking apart the fairing is pretty easy too. Watch a couple youtube videos and you should be good to go no problem. I would reccomend swapping out your speakers at the same time if you do. Unless you want competition level sound you can get a set of 6.5" Marine speakers for under $75 and they will sound WAY better than stock. Toss in another $100 and you can put an amplifier on them that will blow away the top of the line Boom systems. If you are in the Fayetteville NC area I'd be willing to help out.

Yeah I did a bar swap myself last winter so getting in the fairing doesn't bother me at all. After doing a little more research and recommendations here in the audio section I am going to swap head unit, get the adapter to keep hand controls, new speakers in fairing, and amp.
The whole thing will cost considerably more than just the adapter but, the head unit swap is about same cost as the adapter and as long as I am in the fairing anyway.... Oh and the CB is coming out.

You can also pretty easily sell your old HK head unit to someone for $100 to recoup some costs.

I used one of these to connect my phone to an older Alpine stereo head I installed in my bike. It can be a bear to pair sometimes, but it works great when it does!

I also have a pair of Bluetooth dongles that I use to connect headphones or earbuds to my tv or my phone to my '07 F-150. One cheap one I got off eBay and an Anker I got from Amazon. The Anker model is much better.

My aux jack is very finicky and i was having trouble using a BT adapter plugged into it. Now I have a round FM transmitter type that I attached to the inner fairing and plug it into the lighter socket to power it. Its a short reach from the hand grip to cycle songs. So far this has worked out great, and there is a usb end on the plug that I can power my phone with as well. Cost like 18 bucks or something...I bought a backup just in case.

I use the exact same one. In fact I have 2 so if one runs out of charge I just plug the second one in. Works like a charm!
