The battery terminals are fine and tight....I think its the ignition switch... the power goes right back on to the starter and stereo when I simply apply a bit of pressure on the **** and you hear the pump starting again.
I went to the dealer to get the switch ...they dont have it in stock...but i need to make sure which component of the switch can and should I order... so i asked them to give me the part numbers so i can study whats happening with the current switch...
Here's the schematic of the switch, connector 33 upper right of the diagram. Red from Battery is power to the switch, 1 is Accessory and 3 is Ignition. When switch is in the Ignition position both 1 & 3 are hot from 2. When it happens again check for 12V to grd at the fuses. If the Ignition fuse isn't powered you know the R/BK isn't common to Red anymore and something upstream is causing it. If just a wiggle of the switch brings it back I think you're o the right track. Make sure you look at connector 33 and the pins look clean and in position.
Before you start swapping out parts, try testing the maxifuse, and system relays when it is out. Here's a nice Electrical Diagnostinc Manual for 2008 Harley Touring Bikes.
