But.....a few things to think about (to me at least)
- tires are 8 years old, I'd guess you'll want to possibly replace them ASAP, though I've ridden on old tires too, they do start to dryrot/crack w/ age- could be a bargaining tool for you ($500ish)
- ABS, when is the last time the brake fluid was flushed?
- when was last service done? has it been sitting for 5 years? or ridden 100ish miles each year etc?
Sorry if this was all addressed and I missed it above.
I do agree that you found a deal there Blackjack1. Congrats on the purchase.
I think in this area the bike op is looking at with the mileage listed, new tires and recent dealer service would move around 10,500, to 11K.
The problem I have with the NADA or KBB values for motorcycles is that they really don't mileage into account. KBB puts the value of this bike at $12,000 "In good condition with typical mileage"
I don't know what "typical mileage" is suppose to mean but if it was mine this bike would have over 80,000 miles and I'd be lucky to sell it for $5,000. This one is barely broken in with new tires.
I know there are a lot of great deals out there but if I really wanted the bike I wouldn't have a problem paying the asking price. It's basically a new bike.
Thanks for that. I looked at his sales history on eBay (lots of bike parts). I don't know why, but my gut is telling me to keep looking. He did counter-offer on a price I could live with, but I think I'm going to keep looking. Thanks, everyone, for your contributions. I appreciate it.
I bought an 09 a couple years ago, 11k for that bike is fair to both. 10k is a great deal for you. 10.5 a great deal for you. Make the deal and ride baby ride.
When I bought mine they were scarce, I still laugh at some internet folks.
