Thanks for that. I looked at his sales history on eBay (lots of bike parts). I don't know why, but my gut is telling me to keep looking. He did counter-offer on a price I could live with, but I think I'm going to keep looking. Thanks, everyone, for your contributions. I appreciate it.
Just sounds like a guy making a few bucks selling parts who happened on to a low miles garage queen. Maybe he even got a screaming deal from an estate sale and is trying to make some quick cash. He seems up front with details to me. Ask for the VIN and give it a quick check. As for the dent, I had a local custom car guy fix worse than that in my fender. $250 to fix and paint two toned with pinstripe. I did do removal and install though.
Keep looking if you want but it might be awhile before you find another close to that condition for decent money.

When I was communicating with him, he seemed to be honest, but people in the business of selling things often seem honest. It's funny, though, that he never mentioned the ding in the front fender in the CycleTrader ad, so I got to wondering what else he was leaving out about the bike. That's when my gut started talking to me. It just so happens he's got another Road King up for sale, so I thought that was interesting.
Like I said, I've been on the lookout for a while and I'm not in any rush. I've made offers on several other nice Road Kings in that time, so they're out there. You just have to be patient. I'll find one eventually.
If he has another RK for sale he could be one of those guys that scours CL and FB Marketplace for insanely good deals on bikes and parts then cleans them up and sells them for more money. Not necessarily a bad thing....but worth noting. I bought my 2009 King a few years ago for $8200. It was a crazy good deal though. I think $10,000 is very fair and would settle around $10,500. It's a buyers market BIG TIME right now. There will be others.
Just keep looking, you'll find exactly what you want. I was lucky enough to be in the position to buy last fall. Got an 11 street glide with a bunch of extras that I wanted in super nice shape for 11900. Older guy who loved the bike but has vertigo and just couldn't ride anymore.
The 2011 RKC, like mine, was available with the "Power Pack Option" that included the 103, ABS, and security. That would make a difference in price comparisons among '11 RKC, ya know...
Not all '11 RKC came that way...

All 2011 RKC had the 103 standard as well as ABS and security. They did all come that way.

He said this one did have ABS, security and cruise when I asked him. I asked about the ABS fluid change "recall" and he said that had been done when he had it at the dealer. Like someone mentioned, I should have asked for a VIN and, while I was at it, I should have asked if the title was salvage.
