There's a place here in Ontario that used to install trackers on trailers and equipment.
These work on cellular as well as GPS, so they dont need a clear view of the sky. Can hide it pretty easily. They have a few different systems with different features.
I cant believe what Ive read on this thread. No wonder so many women are becoming Cuckold wifes. You guys that wont do anything to a guy that steals your bike? Goddamn what a bunch of fcking wussings. Ive been riding since I was 19 and if a guy stole my bike, I want my bike back and his **** or his OLLADYS ****. Im interested in getting a GPS device so I can find my bike if it got stolen but mainly to get the MF that stole it. Nothing against law enforcement but I would only call them for the report. My God what has happened to MEN?

Ya riding since 19 well ... Most of us here have been riding a day or two. <joke<< Don't get triggered.
Some might have families, wife, life, that they care about more then a bike that can be replaced. It's not like the old days where people fought it out and that was that. No, they pull a gun on you or a knife and kill you. Yeah,Yeah most riders have guns too. Would be ironic if something happened guns drawn bike owner dies thief still has bike...game over.
Take a look around on the site as well you we see there are some serious bad *** people here (vets). That surely could do the *** whooping . But sometimes you have to fight with your brain grass hopper.
As I mentione in my comment I am going to do custom tracking device (that should look like V&H FP3 package :-P). Just collected all parts for it (GSM/GPS communication module, microcontroller and CAN bus reading module) and I am starting to elaborate this way.
Here is my main idea: A) read from CAN bus and watching bikes alarm if it wakes up B) simultaneously in periodic peaks check if the GPS location changed.
In any case:
- if bikes alarm detecting something suspected
- GPS location changed
- or ping from server to bike was not received after some time
- disconnect tracking device from bikes power and run on backup battery
I will be informed about that.
