I am SO GLAD I bought an '07 Road King Classic - they aren't offering my color of choice - Black Cherry Pearl - on the '08s, the 105th year anniversary logo sucks and takes all the classic out of the classic, 5 or 6 gallon tank - I like to get off and stretch after a few hundred miles... and as far as the tranny noise/clatter, I switched to Redline Shockproof Heavy - huge difference, quiets it down and is very tolerable. And, I've tried Mobil 1 v-twin 20w-50, and Amsoil 20w-50 in the engine and primary - both keep the top end running cooler and quieter - going to put Redline 20w-50 in on the next change. Yep, glad I didn't wait.

My old 1964 Honda 90 had the rubber dampers in the drive hub.

What a bunch of grumpy old f@rts! Change is a natural form or progress. If you want to tinker with your bike get a knucklehead. I want to ride mine, not tinker with it.Jeez....
