I noticed my right grip has loosened from the tube. Must have moved after pushing my bike in the garage.
Can this be repaired with glue etc ? Or it is a lost cause, ready to slip again?
My plans are to remove the assembly and attempt to re-glue the grip back into position. (Any gotcha's I need to be aware of removing the throttle tube assembly?)
Funny thing is I have those exact grips and mine does the same thing. I just push it back on. It's been good so far this season with exception of when I got it back from the dyno dude...it had about a half inch gap, he must have been having fun. Sorry I'm not much help for a solution
3m black weatherstrip adhesive is the only thing I have found to hold them on. It's usually the left one that gives you problems.
A lot of people use hairspray. I have always used 3M weatherstrip adhesive. Makes it tougher to get off, but then I don't change grips unless they are worn out. They never come loose unless I pry them off.
I'm with Barney. I've always just used cheap hairspray to hold grips in place. Cheap, easy enough to remove when I want and it works pretty damn well. Worked on motocross bikes that take real abuse, has worked just fine on my Harleys too.
