Default neutral light issues!

on my 02 flhri my neutral light seems to have a mind of its own. sometimes it works sometimes it dont. took it to the stealership and they claim they checked for a short and it was working properly. before i waste my money again by going back, i figure someone out there has some input to resolve my issue.

Try turning it slightly, they are adjustable somewhat. I had to turn mine a little to get it to work as required. It works by completing the ground circuit with a steel ball and spring which goes into detent at neutral. The depth effects it, therefore sometimes the slightest turn is all that it needs. You could also change the gasket/sealing ring to change depth.
