While I have only installed a few sets of shocks on 2014 and up bikes, I’ll have to agree with H.G. Messner, all but one of those bikes seemed to be torqued to only about 40 lbs (definitely not 65-70). I wonder if the torque setting changed in the later service manuals? I’d swear my 2014 manual said 45 lbs.....

Just flat washers as well, never seen a lock washer on the shocks
