Weird throttle control on my 07 RK
Just inherited this beautiful 07 roadking which is fuel injected and can't get used to the throttle control . It feels sorta jerky when I start riding it around ,, my hand gets really tired after awhile trying to keep it from jerking,,,, any help guys on howmI might fix this if possible?

Have yiu rode a bike or harley before?
It doesn't have tensioner. But you could probably find one. But I suspect that ain't it.
Maybe lube cables and bar. But I suspect just need to ride it.
Does it have cruise?

Zerk,,,, yes,,,used to work at a bike lace selling jap bikes mostly,,,Honda shadow was as close to a Harley though I've ever ridden,,,,Also, bike has no cruise except caveman cruise which I made sure wasn't locking...feels right, but just alittle right for my liking,,,, no lash really to speak of

your 'caveman' cruise is actually a throttle tensioner. if the tension is too light, then the throttle will be jerky and rough. you want to have enough tension on it that it will still snap back to the idle position, but not too much that you have to force it back.

Also people add those tensioners to jap bikes after market.
Speaking from my bowels, I don't think you will like the bike. Maybe you'll relax and get used to a bigger bike. Maybe not for you. No shame in that.
I have an 07 myself.

Zerk,,,,None taken really,,,,,I come from a dirt riders background anyway from the 70's -90's. While I liked from time to time to ride a street bike,,, like I stated earlier, they were frm the bike shop I worked which was Suzuki,, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and BMW....I personally rode KTM, Husquavarna, and Honda dirt bikes,,,, Only street bike I ever owned was a first year CBR600 Hurricane. reguardless of my choices anyway , I do like the Old style and looks of a Harley because All the rich chrome and Vtwin power which is a definite winner,,,Like all bikes I'll just have to work out the things that bother me if I was to keep this baby,,,,It was gifted to me by my father- in -law to either keep or sell, but my only problem with riding is my wife right now is in a really bad way due to a stroke she suffered almost 2 years ago...So it's being sold befor hopefully I get too attached to her and i go out and kill myself,,,,God knows I'd like to keep this baby,, but family comes first,,,,thanks for you help though buddy,,,,take

I suspect if you just ride it for awhile you'll relax and forget all about it. I came from jap bikes. Throttle control was not something I noticed. I am having trouble knowing what is bothering you.
Maybe to much drag as has been mention. Hell maybe add some. I like a little so I can take my hand off or a second without it jerking as slows down. So maybe try adding just a little. If you have no drag, it will start to coast sorta.. I can feel that.
Also what RPMs are you at? My 07 with stock primary chain tensioner flet like it vibrated under 3k. Plus is still kinda doggy under it. Ride it for awhile and see. Maybe get used to it, maybe change thing up, maybe lube it up. Dunnp.
It is also alot bigger and heavier bike than what you came from. Maybe that is effecting how it feels. RPM range different too.
Just read selling. They'll make more. As you said not attached to it yet anyway.

Zerk,,,,,,,thanks bud,,,,I'll play with it awhile and see if I can get used to it,,, really shouldn't be riding it anyway unregistered and without a license to boot,,,,if the man catches me, even around my circle,,, He may try and take it away for himself,,,lol
