Gear indicator show N. When in gear
Hi guys
my Road glide special 2015 has begun to show N when I am 6 gear ( shows N in all gears.) Some times it shows the correct gear for a few sekunds and the back to N.. I cant use the cruise control due to this. Any ideas for what causes this ?

The cruise control operates using an RPM and ground speed matrix. If they don't fit the profile, the CC will not engage/stay engaged. Start simple, check the connections to the VSS, if that doesn't work pull the VSS, clean it up and re-install. If that doesn't work look for the testing procedure of the VSS in the service manual.

It could be the neutral light switch is stuck. I had to clean the one on my SuperGlide. It looks like a big nut on the top of the transmission with two push on wires going to it. I took that out and made sure the ball could move freely. In my case it was gummed up a bit. If you try this don't worry about marking the wires, it's really a pass through (dead mans) switch. The wires can go on either post.

Easiest way to check the neutral switch is to leave it in gear with the clutch out and hit the starter
