Recently installed a set of Jim's lifters in my Ultima 120" motor , all 4 destroyed themselves in less than 500 miles !! Roller pins cam lose and made a hell of a racket ! Took out the lifter blocks and cam when the inner lifter stopped rolling on the cam and galled it all up ! All I am saying is save your $$$$ they are not worth $90 each ! Total junk ! I would go with S&S . just my 2 cents .
This is interesting and doesn't necessarily apply to the OP's issue, but I just looked on the S&S website and I'm not finding any lifters (tappets) for Twin-Cams. In fact, if I enter the part number of the S&S lifters (330-0175 S&S Premium Tappet Set) I installed in my '14 Limited back in 2016, they're not listed. It looks like they provide them with some of the kits, but not separately. Hmm...
I just ordered the S&S 330-0718 lifters from Dennis Kirk. They had them ready for pick up by USPS within a few hours. And they are shipping to California.
On my build I installed all S&S products. Great customer service and products. Sorry to hear about your troubles man. At least you are safe to write about it. Stay safe and stay in the wind man.
NEVER install a Jims lifter in anything. Personally seen dozens fail. Heres the latest. 2 of the 4 failed the same way. This set only had maybe 5k miles on them as you guessed it the previously installed jims lifters failed as well.
