One thing to check is buffeting....next time your head starts bobbing or shaking, place your left arm horizontal across your chest. If this reduces the buffeting, you have air coming up from underneath the fairing or shield. You might want to consider fugly fangs if this is the case. I'm 5'7", ride a Street Glide, have the short stock windshield and the fugly fang. I look well over my shield (as I believe we all should) and do not experience any buffeting now. And I wear both half helmet and 3/4 helmet depending on weather. Just another possible solution.

^^^Yep^^^

Buffeting comes from above & below...I ended up going w/ 8.5" re-curve shield, fork baffle, bat-wings & hard lowers to cure it on my '09 FLHX.

Freedom shields make a nice screen. A quality piece of work. They have a touring shield that is a bit wider than the norm..

I found the majority of the turbulent air was coming from between the fairing and gas tank on my ultraglide. I go the DK tank lift I went 1.5” and it work great, and more airflow over engine.
