I just got the road sofa carbon extended reach. Not here yet, but a buddy has one and they look nice for a touring seat.

I had a Road Sofa on a 2020 Road King and disliked it. The quality is good, finish is good, the padding was firm and comfortable. My two complaints with the seat was it moved me back and up from the stock position and the vertical wall of a back support was uncomfortable as the material rubbed on my waist at the belt line. I am 6'1" with a 32" inseam and was not grooving on the change of position from stock, so I sent it back. Hope this helps.

Seats are probably one of the most subjective purchases you can make for a motorcycle....

Just about any seat you ask about, you will find those who love it, and those who won't recommend it.. One man's "gotta buy" seat is another man's "piece of junk" seat.... This is one area where people can give you an honest, accurate perspective, that you may totally disagree with...

There are people who swear by firmer seats and those who prefer more cushion. Some people swear by "gel" in the seats and some claim it causes a host of bad issues. Then there are those who care for form (looks) over function (comfort).... Who to believe... no one is being deceptive, just different opinions out there..

This is one of those modifications that requires some homework and trial & error... The key is to try to try out as many different types/styles of seat that you can, BEFORE plunking down your hard earned money for one... Trial and error on your own dime can be expensive... don't ask how I know..

Many dealers and independent shops have programs where you can try out seats before buying... many of the ultra premium seats (big $$$$) don't offer that but will reork a seat that you buy from them..

Ask around, make use of seat trial programs, and never turn down the offer to try a seat... even if it's just to sit on it... you can tell a lot by doing only that much, but a ride is preferable...

Good luck with the search...

I have the LS Extended reach. As others have mentioned it is on the firm side not as hard as a Corbin but close. I do like the fact that it pushes me up and back.

Giving this seat (extended, heated with driver backrest version) serious consideration so I need to get it right. Also being in Canada, trying it & shipping back & forth if it doesn't work for us isn't really an option. My concern though is about the passenger area. According to their specs, the passenger area is only 12" wide. The HD Hammock we're currently running is almost 16" wide. We ride 2-up about 70% of the time so it's got to be comfortable for my wife. She is definitely not on the "larger" side (only weighs 125) but I'm sure she'd notice it. How does your wife find it?

I went from a Mustang passenger pad that was 13 inches wide to the Saddleman and the lady actually likes the Saddleman better than the Mustang pad that was on there before.

I don’t know if this will help or not but I went from the stock Road Glide Ultra seat to a Harley TallBoy seat. The passenger pillion for the TallBoy was slightly smaller. My wife, who rides with me 99% of the time noticed right away. She tolerates the TallBoy but I’m sure she would love to have the stock seat back. I need to find a compromise.

My wife liked the seat a lot after she got it broken in. She got her own scoot this summer and I added the back rest on mine. I see no reason to change mine now, it's comfy for me doing 400-500 mile days, I can't ask for more.
