the original owner of my RK had this fairing on, and it fell off when he hit the brakes too hard. im having the bike wrapped in vinyl next month but need to prep the fairing as the vinyl with show all these cracks. is there any advice out there on how to tackle this ? i was thinking to just sand it down and prime it before wrapping. Any advice is much appreciated. Im handy but dont know the steps to take to even start prepping this.
They are ABS plastic which is somewhat flexible. That looks to me more like bondo or gel coat cracks. Take it off and show us what the inside looks like. If it is cracked through, buy a new one. If there are only a few, you can plastic weld it with ABS cement. It isn't really welding, it is just a fancy way of gluing it. I did it with a cracked up tour pak a few years ago.
