Looking to buy 2009road king with 19800miles on it. Guy is asking 8k or OBO. It’s in good condition. Is 6800k a good price without disrespecting him. Also, anyone thoughts on is this a good bike???? Thanks

Blue Book says a dealer would sell it for $8500.. Trade in is $6200 so I would say yes, $6800 is a bit low. $7200 to $7500 is reasonable.
I think you'll find that the 2009 RK is a very good machine. It was the first year to use the "new" frame (which is still used today). Engine is the well-sorted 96 inch Twin Cam, plenty adequate in stock form but amenable to tuning, and the gearing is "correct" (2007 and 2008 Touring models were geared excessively "high", such that sixth gear was unusable below about 70 mph). Gas capacity was increased to a nominal six gallons (from five) and it has Brembo brakes, which are excellent.
Possible trouble areas include wheel bearings, but those are cheap and easily replaced.
If you can buy the bike in the $7200 to $7500 range (and I agree with that being reasonable), you should be good, assuming the bike hasn't been abused or heavily modified.

i would start my negotiating @ $6500, see where you end up. Never understood the "direspecting" someone when im standing there with a pocket of cash.
Good luck with your purchase , the 9 is pretty much identical to my 10 , your gonna love it . I believe the from 09 -12 , HD used the previous comp before they upgraded to the se comp , might want to check with the seller to see if it's been done . Some have had the comp last for years , while most have had to change them out , they tend to wear down sooner than later .
