Default Adjustable backrest install

I just got an adjustable backrest and I'm excited to get it installed and hit the road. Unfortunately when I try to install the bracket for the adjuster it doesn't fit because I have true duals.

Has anyone had this issue and come up with a good solution?

Edit- turns out I had the bracket backwards.

For people considering the installation of the HD adjustable backrest, here is an article with some pictures which might clear up some of the installation questions.
