Just got back from a 450 mile ride in some hot New England weather and the rear is not aflame! Purchased some of those stretchy wicking under armor drawers and a set of seat beads. My riding partners were constantly off the seat seeking some temporary releive and I found that I could remain in the saddle without that sticky painful feeling. Stuck in a traffic jam for over an hour of stop and go. The bike was around 250 degrees the ambient temp of the surrounding air was about 90. Yeah it was real hot and the coal stove that I was sitting on was not helping matters. When we finally got rolling and the air started moving thru the seat beads my rear actually felt as though the seat was air conditioned. I hope they last a while! Anyone that is interested in the beads can go to BEADRIDER.COM. They are priced fairly and I had mine within 5 days of placing trhe order. The stretchy drawers were purchased at Dicks Sporting Goods ( $20 ). Oh and the coal stove that I was sitting on is an 07 Ultra Classic with the AN Big Sucka,Vance & Hines True Dual head pipes ,Classic slip ons and the Fuel Pack fuel management system.
I live in S. TX. Just got back from 500 mile ride. Used the beads from beadrider.com for the first time. Took a lot of ribbing from my buds at first, but by the end of the day I could have sold them my beads for $100. No chafing from the sweat. In fact no sweat down there at all anf it was a plenty hot day. I'm sold on these darn beads!
I just got back from a shorter ride, but it was hot. I heard it got around 96, but I'm not sure. I rear was steaming and stinging. I think I need to try those beads.
I just went through a 3 week police motor school and all I can say is you need to buy the Under Armor compression fit shorts these things rock. I'm sold these keep you so dry and wick away the moisture. Theseare comfortable and keep you from getting hung up or crunching somthing getting in and out of the saddle.
They sell UnderArmour at Academy Sports if I recollect right. They also carry a cheaper brand that works well too. Also Sportsmansguide.com sells the ProPlayer brand that I also have. They are very resonably priced and work very well. They come in a 3pack which helps you save even more.
What I think is funny about these drawers is that they come in sizes up to xxl. I am a big fat guy, wearing a xxl would cut the blood flow of to my legs. It is funny because we all know fat guys sweat more than you 'lil' guys. Guess I will keep on sweatin'.
