Default Exhaust comparisons

I just took off my American Custom slip ons. Put the oems back on to cut down the noise to see what exactly was so causing my ears to give me so much problems I was forced to wear Ear Peace ear plugs. That was the only way I didn't have my ears ringing for hours after the ride. I discovered it wasn't wind noise but instead, the slip ons. I took a good ride at 60 mph with the oem's and no ear plugs and didn't experience the dreaded ringing afterwards.
I see the oems are rated at like 80 db.
I'm looking for a slip on with a little deeper rumble thats just a bit louder. I heard a couple clips of some muffs, rineharts, v&h's, Ness's.....all too loud.
But the Two Brothers Comp S's and the Crusher Tridents seemed a bit louder and deeper without the roar the louder muffs exhibited.

Anyone have any good advice? Not interested jn the 'loud pipes' debate.....

Check out the S&S MK45. it’s a 4.5” muffler that includes an easily installed Db reducer. Many very positive reviews.

I have the V&H titan oversized. Gives a deeper throaty tone but I wouldn’t consider them loud at all. They were on sale at revzilla. I think V&H is discontinuing them.

Cool

There are TBR (Two Brothers Racing) mufflers on the RGS I bought in January. They sound nice and not obnoxious on the highway. I have hearing problems and these didn't bother me on a two day 900 mile trip last month. I also wear a 3/4 open face helmet, not sure if that makes a difference. Good luck either way.

If you can find a pair of used SE Harley mufflers, they are a little louder/Deepet then the regular stock Muffs of regular non SE Bikes.

I have hearing issues too. Suffered a lot of hearing loss at certain levels....too much loud music, loud workplaces and loud exhausts....lol. I listened to a clip of some TBR Comp S's and was impressed. I also heard some Crusher Tridents which sounded maybe a bit deeper but about the same sound level. Also the Arlen Ness Magnaflo's sounded good, not too loud, at least on the clip they didn't.

I had some cheap loud DNA megaphones an they had the loud aggressive sound but it grew old so I picked up a nice set of V&H with full baffles an they were too quiet for me. I got some fuel moto baffled an they seem like a nice sound without being painful to me. Sad thing is with the V&H the bike ran the best it ever has I just didn't like how quiet it was. I have those V&H an megaphones for sale on craigslist.

Here's a sound clip

I hadn't listened to that clip since making it. Having heard it on youtube an not on my phone they sound louder from the back. Sitting on the bike I heard more engine noise than exhaust noise.

Don't know how old you are, but you're doing the best thing for yourself getting the db level down. I've permanently lost so much of my hearing capability due to excessive noise and failing to protect my hearing when I should have over the decades, that now I have constant, loud tinnitus, and can't understand what someone is saying to me if they're 20 feet away. It sucks.

Have you considered SuperTrapp slip-ons? I went to a full system for the same noise issues, and the difference was night and day. Much quieter than Bassani.

Use a long punch and open up the stock pipes. I did this as well as cutting out the cat and they sound nice. Deep rumble without plotting your ears.
