Trying to adjust my headlight up. Screw spins but no movement on the headlight. Feels like the screw begins to catch than spins - as if stripped. Is this common? Guessing I need to strip off the fairing to confirm/fix?
Plastic adjustment cog was stripped. This was the first time I ever attempted to adjust. I suppose dealer did it on floor setup? Stripped it and gave up?

Do you have a part number and have you done your own search so you can get it faster? seems like a cheap part, once your dealer gets the part in have them hand it to you.

rk classic.
Looking at the parts diagrams, the headlamp adjuster is part of the headlamp and cannot be had separately. I'd guess the dealer is going to warranty the entire headlamp assembly.
Good thinking though, I was going to suggest the same.
I have the same issue on my 2020 RG special, I believe the dealer thought I must've broke it and told me I'd have to pay for removal if HD wouldn't warranty. They opened a case and fourtunately HD is going to warranty after I called them and discussed with customer service. The headlight is on several weeks backorder and the dealer is not willing to reinstall twice so I can keep bike unless I pay $60 for technician's labor. They won't warranty the new light if I take bike and install it myself when it's available to save $60. Oh well I guess it could always be worse. The new light will have a one year warranty and retails for $750 - not cheap!.
