If you are referring to the HD SE unit by Ohlins like I have on my Street Glide, then it uses the same exact bracket for the limited with tour pack. The down side to it is having to remove the tour pack to install them. There are several YouTube videos showing installation on Limited’s.

Hope that helps.

the HD SE shocks were designed so they don’t Interfere with the docking hardware and Tourpacks .

Easy… Set the compression and rebound to the middle for both. Get the sag right, that’s the most important part and you’ll need three people for that unless you have a wheel chock or other way of holding the bike up straight.

Then, repeat for riding with a passenger. For preload turns, each 25 to 30lb equals one turn of preload I’ve found. Once you get it set for you, get the preload number of turns right for you and passenger…keeping in mind if you gear up using the bags and tour pack, you may have to adjust by an additional turn.

On mine, once I went with Legends up front, the sag was even more critical to get right and I had to slow down the rebound a couple clicks.

You really shouldn’t have to change anything but preload once they’re broken in (check sage at 500 and 1K miles).

Two "Thumbs UP" for these shocks!

The wife and I rode 200 miles yesterday. She commented early in that she would tell a huge difference over the stock suspension. At about 30 miles in I stopped and softened the rebound two clicks. WOW, that is the sweet spot. Always amazing what minor adjustments do. We returned home both with huge smailes from the enjoyment of the days ride to the enjoyment of the FLHXS. Then she shocked me and said the bike rides every bit as well as the CVO Limited and that she was very pleased we made the investment. I found show wash board road sections and was extremely pleased at how it soaked up the bumps with ease, keeping the wheel totally planted and keeping me in full control even over it in corners.

Some shocks from 20 years ago.

Here's an example of suspension back in the day! Bet it was state of the art at the time!

You are exactly right. Funny, the CVO Limited with Pro-Action on the rear feels good with the stock front suspension. So I have been putting it off till the 50K service which will come this year. But on the SGS the front end now feels inferior. I will most likely change it in the fall. Doing my research now to pick the system I want for the front of each bike. Yes suspension makes a huge difference in ride, safety and enjoyment!

I am 6'1" tall plus my boots add about an inch. The Street Glide with the 12 inch suspension felt like a toy to me. The Saddleman seat adds a little height and now with the 13 inch shocks it feels close to the height of our Limited. I weigh in about 240 lbs and my wife tells me every time I get on a smaller bike that I don't look good on it! LOL

I come from a racing background, first thing i do to every bike is suspension, it far out weights motor mods, guys will spend thousands on the motor and still cant keep up with a stock bike with great well setup suspension. I seriously cant see how anyone can ride a stock HD the suspension is down right embarrassing (it is better in recent years, but that's not saying much LOL)
