Exclamation 2012 HD SG Throttle Position Sensor

My 2012 SG check engine light will illuminate after 15 minutes of riding, then if I keep riding it will go into limp mode after 15 more minutes of riding. I can pull over, shut it off and give it 10 seconds then turn it back on and the check engine light will go out. After checking the historical codes, they point to the TPS. Is there a way to reset a TPS, or do I have to buy a new one (i.e. $220)?

its probably the wiring in the harness that connects to the TB. I replaced mine as I was having the same issue in my 12. easy fix.

Consider that when a sensor is throwing a code, it means that it is sensing something, its not automatic that the cause is a faulty sensor.

I inspected the wiring and it looks fine. I didn't see anything looking abnormal atleast.

I replace the O2 sensors, spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body with no change. The codes had alluded to those things, but doing that did not fix the problem it's having.

Thanks for all the replies, but does anyone know if the TPS on a 2012 can be fixed or is it a repairable item.

You're absolutely right, but the TPS isn't a sensor in that it detects a problem, it's more a device that measures and uses that information to feed into the computer to tell it how much fuel to add. So in this case, it seems that the ECM detected the sensor was no longer sensing, and that would likely be the problem to address.

It's a replaceable item.

I'll give that a shot, it's cheaper to go that route.
