You'll get all manner of responses to your question. Truth is if it weren't law here in Alabama and Tennessee I'd not wear one at all in warm weather. I searched and tried multiple versions until I found a low profile half helmet in Lynchburg that properly fit my oval-elongated nugget without pressure points. I forget the brand and I'm not near it at the moment but your head shape, not only circumference, will determine which fit you'll be most comfortable with.
Thats another reason I went with the HamrHead, they make their helmets in two styles to fit different head shapes, one with a more oval shape and one more rounded. Sizing chart shows the differences.
They advise if you measure close to a size change, go with the smaller. I usually wear a large, but was close to the M-L measurement, so took the medium and it fit perfect!
Same here, and I wish they'd change the law in Nevada. It gets so hot your brain cooks. As soon as I cross into Utah or Arizona the helmet comes off.
The jacked up thing is those states have primary seatbelt laws but no helmet law. You will get a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt in a car but you are good to go to take the only protection that you have off of your head. I dont understand lawmakers, LoL

Lawmakers only respond to what is a hot topic at the moment that will get them votes.
Been riding since the 70s and have been using the HD half helmet for the last year with the visor built inside and it is the BOMB!
Only got this because it was a gift as was too small for my friend.
Prior to that I always had the cheaper half helmet that had to have the buttons for the old school bubble shield.
Anyone have the buttons don't knock it until you try it as it is hands down better than the average full face for wind noise.
Bitwell sells them for like $20 and worth every penny. Used to keep it in saddlebag before I got the HD with visor.
My last helmet was a $25 Outlaw from Amazon and was very nice (yes had the buttons for my bubble shield.
Also the HD half helmet came with zip in covers for ear covering into the straps. I once removed them in hot weather but instantly pulled over and reinstalled as they truly cut wind noise!
My antique single strap helmets do not produce the noise that the new helmets produce with the 2 down to 1 strap on each side. Surely safer but that is the noise maker!
Ride Safe✌🏼
Bell Pit Boss here too.......one of the few companies that produced it in WHITE (pearl), but they discontinued making it in white. I prefer to wear WHITE for some additional added viability even though I realize "black is the fashion".
Before the Bell I used to ride with a Shoei St. Cruze 1/2 helmet.....but Shoei no longer makes that helmet or any 1/2 helmet.
I'm currently riding with an HD half helmet with Boom 20s built into it, I doin't think they make it any longer. Not particularly comfortable. I found an LS2 half helmet that I fell in love with and will probably buy, but I will lose the convenience of having the 20s built in, Oh well, it did't work that well anyway, But the LS2 was soooooo comfy
