2018 RKS. Installed new carlini 16 inch bars and now the front turn signals just stay on solid white like running lights. They wont flash when I hit the switch. The rear is fine. Im pretty sure its not my wiring because there on they just wont flash. It sets codes for front and left turn signals. There LED and worked fine before the bar install. It wouldnt start at all when I first finished the job but I think it was a battery issue. I had no power at the starter switch. Id hit the button and nothing would happen. I tried to jump it with my charger/jumper. Its mainly for cars but. The setting on it is 12volt 60 amp/jumpstart. Everything flashed a few times like the bike didnt like it so I stopped. Maybe I damaged something? I changed the battery and now its fine but still the front blinkers just stay solid white and wont blink. What is going on with it? Please help if you can. Ive checked everything multiple times. Switches, wiring im at a complete loss on these turn signals.
If you have current it's the bulb, if no current I would back track each connecter, maybe forgot to plug one together. I did that when I pulled my inner fairing and my heated grips were not working anymore, back tracked and found I forgot to plug one connecter up. Do they work with the hazards on? I found that from now on with that kind of work I'm taking pictures and tagging each connecter I take apart with matching paper key tags. I just saw you have a RKS, perhaps something inside the headlight bucket is not hooked up? Got a manual?
They do not work with the hazards. I took pics, video and tagged all the connections with tape and wrote on the tape where they go. I also marked everything with different colored paint markers. If one wasn’t plugged in it wouldn’t work at all. I was extremely careful. I also double and triple checked inside the headlight bucket. It’s also not the bulbs because I’ve tried other bulbs and they do the same thing. I have this weird feeling it’s something that has to do with when I jump started it. There’s no other issue though. I have an apt. With a tech later this week so hopefully he can figure it out. I’ll definitely update this thread when I find out. I wonder if it could be farther back in the harness. Not sure how though. They worked before the bar install. I did remove the seat and tank but… I’m just at a loss.
Sure not a pinched wire at the switch pack when reinstalled on the new bars? Perhaps a wire not pushed in enough in a connecter or in wrong slot? When the lights are on are they looking like regular running lights or brighter like signal light? Might be the wire is switched around?
Codes B2141 and B2146. I didn’t check fuses though because because someone on here said it doesn’t have fuses for the blinkers or an old school relay either. All controlled through one of the BCMs. I will look in there though just to be sure.
