If the engine cranks over but won't start, check the crank position sensor, this reads the notches in the flywheel and sends signals to ECM to initiate ignition and run modes.

I would have to agree , the crank position sensor could be bad, But could be coil too. The sensor is cheaper.. Or swap with a known good sensor before buying one.

Could also be the ignition module or simply a broken wire.

Always a good idea. But has never helped me on a carbed bike with electical problems just like this. Which for me were cpk and coil.

CAM sensors were also gone by 2006. I think midyear 2001, for fuel injection. or they went away with M&M.

My guess... Carbed 124 SnS motor probably has a Super G carb.. Motor ate a backing plate screw..
