Dakota Digitals
SUNLIGHT: special feature to enhance viewing of the TFT LCD in bright daylight with a high contrast display.
This works independently from the night dimming
If enabled, this will temporarily override the color choices made to offer a visible display during the day.
The color will revert back when the sunlight is less intense, (light overcast days can trigger this mode).
o NORMAL: in daylight the background will stay black as the speed and messages will turn white.
o INVERT: in daylight the background will turn white as the speed and messages will turn black.
o OFF: your color choices will not change.
There are actually 2 options for bright sunlight....'normal' or 'invert'. I don't use either of them as my DDs are highly visible to me 99.9% of the time. One thing that might be figuring in my favor is the use (always) of polarized eyewear which dramatically cuts down on glare.
compared to the hard to read stock OEM white gauges on my 2017 FLHXS they where a wise move.
Wide range of display colour choices and I luv the fact you can put whatever info you want in any combo or arrangement.
In bright sunlight they invert (white square, black characters) and you can flip them back by simply putting your finger over the sensor if they stay inverted a little to long and the suns gone.
Mine auto adjust for tunnels and the like...
don't really know what else to tell ya.
Simple upgrade, money well spent IMHO

Did you buy additional sensor?
AIR temp comes from the ambient sensor on the left neck of the bike, usually showed under the INFO button of the Boom 6.5 inFRUSTRATION system that came OEM.
There are a ton of other info hidden in the micro brains of the bike that can be displayed by these gauges.
...we are supposedly METRIC over here so my temp is in C not F (but I can't work in KMs so I run miles). Which is one of the nice things about the Dakota's, you can change miles/klicks independent of Celsius/Fahrenheit
*one complaint the clock doesn't work in 24:00 mode, that bugs me
** another plus is the SERVICE DUE reminder that can be set at routine intervals, I like the way it flashes that up when its due

Very strange thing is that lack of 24 hrs time mode - I am more than sure it has been overlooked and could be fixed by tiniest software update!
I am just about pulling the trigger but...do I need these gages for real?
And I never seen them in person - this doesn't help either.

bottom line with these gauges is that they are simple to read versus analog.
You can set them up with information overload, or you can simplify and just have the basic stuff you want displayed.
