I own both a batwing and a shark now and out on the highway the shark is king.

For me I have no problem reaching the screen if needed. Usually touch it to access the information section. Otherwise I am always using the the hand controls.

It took me a few hundred miles to get comfortable with the Road Glide. Now I prefer it.
Even for that you don't need to reach the screen - push and hold left thumbstick for a few secs and you get to info screen. I haven't touched my screen since day 1, make it easier to keep clean as well
EDIT: push and hold left thumbstick actually gets you to "control" screen for lack of better word, from which you have 4 choices: info, mute, power off and home, if I remember correctly.

I have a 22 RGS, best bike I ever owned. I even like it better than my old RGU

Wow, just wow. On the ride home yesterday I was thinking to myself that there has to be a way. I was planning to get the manual out and see if there was an option.

Update: No need to touch the screen while riding! LOL

Thank you sir.

holy crap! I never knew that. of course I've only had my RG a few months and my prior batwing only had the 4.5 screen so was irrelevant. but still, pretty good tip. thanks!

It's a game changer...no need to put fingerprints on the screen

Cosmic...somewhat unrelated, but still related. Looking at the seat on your CVO...is that "extra piece" on the rider portion removable? Seems like it would push you forward a fair bit...and from pics you've posted, you're not a little guy.
I really like our Hammock seat but have often thought I'd like to get a heated CVO seat... if ever I could find a used one. But if that piece is permanent, I don't think it would work with my 6'3" frame.

Coming off of a StreetGlide, the OP will end up with a great bike. I'm throwing this in for perspective.

I think it depends on what you're doing.

I went from an '08 RoadGlide to an '08 EG Ultra after quickly putting over 13,000 miles on the RG doing multiple high milage 4 day weekend road trips.. At that time no one around here was riding RoadGlides....

The popularity of throwing on a TourPak or going apes & possibly a sissy bar on RoadGlides seemed to give them a jump-start.

I didn't care how far away the fairing and gadgets were, but the EGlide windshield being noticeably closer is big in crap weather. .. It's easier to max out windshield height and still look over it in heavy rain and less wind wrap-around to deal with when temps drop. Fixed Fairing? Never felt arm fatigue in heavy crosswinds etc...on either bike.. Wife (RIP recently at too young an age) was skeptical about going E-Glide, she liked the RoadGlide's looks better, but said for comfort from the elements, she definitely perfered the FLHTCU.

Thanks again for the invitation. I will not be able to make it this year but will plan for next. Enjoy!

They are now short one women's t-shirt and a SE King of the Baggers Cap

It was freaking standing room only shoulder to shoulder last Friday.

No fingerprints are always a good thing!

On the seat that piece is not removable, and it does not move you forward. Hard to explain but they just made part of the original seat in that area look like a separate cushion. It is actually very comfortable and makes inserting and removing the riders back rest much easier. There is a larger opening. As for the heated part we cannot live without those now. They work very well.
