Compensator for an 09
Although I have a stock engine, it may not stay that way.
I opted for the MOW compensator simply because it can be rebuilt when/if needed.
I also replaced the chain, tensioner, clutch basket and clutch plates while I had it apart.
Just like w/ the MOW compensator, I also upgraded the clutch disks.
I want all 86 HP to get to the rear wheel. 😉
I installed one in my stage IV Ultra. It's generally used in higher HP engines.

If you have the OEM comp on your bike, you have the #40296-06A comp that became standard on all 2007 model big twins. It was "problematic" to put it kindly. Harley made several updates and changes to the comp, until it came up with the #36500034A Compensator offered in the 2014+ Rushmore Twin Cams. That Rushmore comp was pretty reliable, and had far less issues than the ones it replaced. I ran that comp without issues on my bagger with a 124" crate engine @ 135HP & 151TQ, until I switched to a solid front sprocket.
That #36500034A comp is available for earlier models, yours included, in the Screamin' Eagle Big Twin Compensator kit #40100061. I believe your OEM comp is no longer available (a blessing) and that SE comp kit is the only HD replacement for your bike.
I believe the Man O War is a good piece of gear. It is a blend between a solid front sprocket and a compensator... leaning more towards a solid front sprocket. I believe it really shines in high HP builds.
You could use either... but IMHO, the SE Big Twin Comp kit #40100061 would be the better comp replacement for your Stage I, street driven bike.
Good luck with your decision..
